Goku & Vegeta vs Naruto & Sasuke - Tag Team Battle
The ultimate anime tag team showdown. We write the fight round by round - Saiyans vs Shinobi, every form, every combo, one winner.

The Arena Falls Silent
Two universes. Four of the most iconic fighters in anime history. No rules, no ring-outs, no time limits - just two duos who've spent their entire lives pushing each other to the absolute limit.
In one corner, the Saiyan rivals. Goku and Vegeta - two warriors who literally tried to kill each other and ended up saving the multiverse together. Their bond isn't friendship. It's something deeper. It's the shared obsession with being the strongest, and the grudging respect that comes from knowing the only person in the cosmos who truly understands you is standing right next to you.
In the other corner, the reincarnated brothers. Naruto and Sasuke - bonded by prophecy, broken by betrayal, rebuilt through war. They fought at the Final Valley twice and nearly killed each other both times. But when they stand side by side? They took down a literal goddess.
This isn't just a power comparison. This is a fight. Let's see how it plays out.
The Teams at a Glance
Team Saiyan - Goku & Vegeta
Strengths: Raw power that operates on a universal scale. Limitless transformations. Zenkai boosts that make them stronger every time they get hurt. Goku's Ultra Instinct gives him autonomous dodge at a level no other character in anime can match. Vegeta's Ultra Ego gets stronger the more damage he takes.
Weakness: They are terrible at teamwork. Historically terrible. Vegeta's pride makes him refuse coordinated strategies, and Goku treats every fight like a personal training session. They've literally argued mid-fight about who gets to throw the next punch. Their fusion forms (Vegito, Gogeta) are absurdly powerful but require specific conditions and have time limits.
Synergy rating: Individually S-tier. As a team? Honestly like a B+. They work alongside each other, not together.
Team Shinobi - Naruto & Sasuke
Strengths: Tactical depth that makes Dragon Ball characters look like they're playing checkers while Team Shinobi plays 4D chess. Naruto's Shadow Clones provide infinite battlefield presence. Sasuke's Rinnegan gives him space-time manipulation, chakra absorption, and the analytical eye to dissect any fighting style in real time. Six Paths chakra puts them both at planetary scale.
Weakness: They have a hard power ceiling. Even at their absolute peak, Naruto and Sasuke operate at planetary to low-star level. Against universal-tier opponents, all the tactics in the world might not close the gap.
Synergy rating: A+ tier. The Kaguya fight proved these two can coordinate at a level that borders on telepathy. Naruto creates chaos, Sasuke exploits openings. It's seamless.
Round 1 - First Contact
Naruto opens smart. A wall of Shadow Clones floods the battlefield - hundreds of orange blurs pouring in from every direction. It's not an attack. It's information gathering. Sasuke stands back, Sharingan spinning, reading the Saiyans' movement patterns and reaction speeds.
Goku grins. He loves this.
He drops into his base form stance and starts picking off clones with casual precision. Each one pops in a burst of smoke, but three more replace it. Vegeta scoffs, crosses his arms, and lets a wave of ki erase a dozen clones at once.
Here's where the analytical layer matters: Naruto isn't trying to hurt them with clones. He's mapping their tendencies. Goku drops his guard when he's having fun - Sasuke clocks this in the first ten seconds. Vegeta always leads with his right hand and powers up predictably when annoyed. The Sharingan is cataloguing everything.
Sasuke strikes. Amenotejikara - he swaps positions with a Shadow Clone directly behind Vegeta and drives a Chidori into his back.
It connects.
Vegeta stumbles forward, more shocked than hurt. That jutsu would've devastated most opponents, but Saiyan durability is different. Vegeta's skin barely singes. He turns around with murder in his eyes.
"You dare?"
First blood through superior tactics. Sasuke's Amenotejikara lands a clean Chidori on Vegeta - but Saiyan durability means the damage barely registers.
The power gap is already showing. Team Shinobi's best sneak attack did what a light sparring jab would do to Vegeta.
Round 2 - Escalation
Vegeta goes Super Saiyan Blue out of pure spite. The power jump is astronomical - the ground cracks, the air distorts, and even Naruto's clones get vaporized by the pressure of his aura alone.
Goku watches for a moment, then does the same. Two pillars of divine ki reshape the landscape. Mountains flatten. The sky splits.
Naruto enters Sage Mode, then stacks it into Kurama Link Mode. The golden chakra cloak erupts around him, tails whipping. Sasuke activates his Perfect Susanoo - the massive armored warrior materializes around him like a mech suit forged from purple chakra.
Now it's a real fight.
Vegeta rockets toward Naruto's Kurama avatar and they clash midair - golden chakra arm versus blue ki fist. The shockwave levels a forest. And this is the matchup within the matchup that matters most: Vegeta is stronger pound-for-pound, but Kurama Mode Naruto can regenerate damage almost instantly. Vegeta hits harder. Naruto absorbs it and keeps coming.
Meanwhile, Goku and Susanoo Sasuke are having a different kind of fight. Sasuke fires his Susanoo arrows - each one carries enough force to split mountains. Goku Instant Transmissions through them like they're standing still. He appears inside the Susanoo's guard and throws a God Kamehameha point-blank.
The Susanoo cracks. Sasuke feels it.
But Sasuke adapts. He switches strategies mid-exchange - drops the giant Susanoo and shrinks it into a close-range armor form. Smaller target. Faster movement. He's learning Goku's Instant Transmission timing, using the Sharingan to predict where Goku will reappear.
And then comes the combo.
Naruto channels a Rasenshuriken through his Kurama avatar and launches it at Goku from behind. Sasuke times it perfectly - he fires Amaterasu at Goku's front. Goku is pinned between an attack that destroys on a cellular level and flames that burn until nothing remains.
Goku Instant Transmissions out. But just barely. His gi is singed. He's actually breathing hard.
"Vegeta... these guys are pretty good."
World-class synergy on full display. Naruto as the hammer, Sasuke as the scalpel - their coordination from the Kaguya fight translates perfectly here.
But Team Saiyan's raw power keeps widening the gap with every transformation. Sasuke's Susanoo is cracking. The Saiyans haven't even started pushing yet.
Round 3 - Everything They've Got
Goku closes his eyes. Silver hair. Silver eyes. His body moves before his mind does.
Ultra Instinct.
Vegeta grins savagely and does the opposite. His eyes go hollow. His ki turns destructive purple. Ultra Ego - the technique that feeds on damage, that wants to be hit.
The power scale just left the planet. Ultra Instinct Goku fights at a level where his body autonomously dodges attacks faster than light. Ultra Ego Vegeta is a walking contradiction - a defense that works by failing, a warrior who gets stronger every time you hurt him.
Naruto knows this is the end if he doesn't go all-in. He feels the weight of what's about to happen.
Baryon Mode.
The cloak changes. Naruto's chakra stops flowing outward and starts consuming itself - a nuclear reaction burning Kurama's life force as fuel. His speed, strength, and reaction time jump to a level he's never touched before. Every punch drains the lifespan of whatever it hits.
Sasuke doesn't have another form. He has something better - the most dangerous analytical mind in anime backed by a Rinnegan that can manipulate space itself. He channels every remaining ounce of chakra into his Rinnegan abilities.
The final exchange is chaos.
Baryon Mode Naruto blitzes Vegeta - and for the first time, Vegeta actually feels it. Each hit drains his stamina, his life force. Ultra Ego should love this, should feed on the damage, but Baryon Mode isn't just damage. It's decay. Vegeta's power boost can't keep up with how fast Naruto is sapping his energy.
Sasuke uses Amenotejikara to swap Naruto and Goku's positions mid-combo. For one disorienting second, Goku is in Naruto's place, eating a Vegeta punch. Vegeta actually hits his own partner.
It's brilliant. Team Shinobi's coordination is making two individually superior fighters trip over each other.
But it's not enough.
Ultra Instinct Goku reacts to the swap in a fraction of a second. His body already adjusted before his brain registered the position change. He phases through Sasuke's follow-up Chidori like it's moving in slow motion, appears behind Naruto, and delivers a palm strike that sends him tumbling through three mountain ranges.
And Baryon Mode is burning out. Naruto can feel it - the fire consuming Kurama's last reserves. He has minutes. Maybe less.
Naruto and Sasuke lock eyes. One look. That's all they need.
Naruto channels everything he has left into one final Rasenshuriken - not aimed at Goku or Vegeta, but at the ground between them. The explosion creates a dust cloud. Sasuke activates every Rinnegan path simultaneously - Shinra Tensei to pin Vegeta, Bansho Ten'in to pull Goku in, and a Chibaku Tensei forming overhead to crush them both.
For one breathtaking moment, it works. The Saiyans are caught in a gravity prison, pulled toward a collapsing planetoid of rock and debris.
Goku and Vegeta look at each other through the chaos. And for the first time in the fight, they stop being rivals.
They both power up at the same time. Two shockwaves - one silver, one purple - rip through the Chibaku Tensei like tissue paper. The planetoid disintegrates. The gravity fields collapse.
Goku appears in front of Naruto. Vegeta appears in front of Sasuke.
It's over in one exchange.
Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego break through every tactical setup. Baryon Mode's life drain threatens Ultra Ego's loop, but burns out too fast.
The Saiyans finally stop being rivals and fight as a unit for one devastating exchange. Game over.
Not the stomp most people expect. Team Shinobi's synergy almost closes a massive power gap - Amenotejikara, Baryon Mode's life drain, and seamless coordination make this far more competitive than any 1v1 from Naruto's verse would suggest. But universal-tier power with unlimited stamina beats planetary-tier power on a timer.
The Aftermath
Team Saiyan wins. But not the way most people expect.
This isn't a stomp. If you read the full Dragon Ball vs Naruto breakdown, you know the raw power gap makes this look like it should be a one-panel fight. On paper, universal beats planetary every time.
But tag team battles aren't about paper. They're about teamwork, chemistry, and adaptability - and that's where Team Shinobi nearly pulls off the upset.
Why Naruto and Sasuke almost won:
- Their coordination is genuinely superior. They fight as one unit while Goku and Vegeta fight as two individuals who happen to be standing next to each other.
- Sasuke's Amenotejikara is the MVP ability of this entire fight. Space-swapping creates confusion that even Ultra Instinct has to recalibrate for.
- Baryon Mode's life drain is one of the few abilities that can actually threaten Ultra Ego's "get stronger from damage" loop.
Why they still lose:
- The power gap is just too massive at peak. Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego operate at universal scale. Baryon Mode is planetary with a ticking clock.
- Baryon Mode burns out. Naruto's strongest form has a hard time limit, and once it's gone, he drops dramatically. Goku and Vegeta's forms are sustainable.
- Even with bad teamwork, two universal-tier fighters can brute force through any tactical setup. You can outthink someone who's ten times your strength. You can't outthink someone who's a million times your strength.
The real takeaway? In a tag team format, raw power matters less and synergy matters more than in a 1v1. Naruto and Sasuke make this way more competitive than any individual matchup from their verse would suggest. Put these two against almost any other duo in anime and they win through superior coordination.
They just had the bad luck of drawing the two strongest mortals in the multiverse.
