Amon is the mysterious and charismatic leader of the Equalists, a revolutionary movement dedicated to eradicating bending from Republic City. Wearing a mask to conceal his identity, Amon claims to have been granted the power to remove bending by the spirits. In truth, he is Noatak, the eldest son of the crime lord Yakone, and a prodigious waterbender and bloodbender who uses his abilities to sever the bending of others — the very power he claims to oppose.
